Rerolling on Steam is not the same loop as rerolling on a phone. There is no guest account button, no quick app reinstall, and no way to delete a temporary Steam account from inside the game. The launch economy also works against the habit: twenty free Covenant summons a day and a guaranteed limited Luna at Rank 70 make a single lucky start less important than it used to be.

That does not make rerolling pointless. It changes what you should reroll for.

The short answer

Situation Recommendation
You have never played and want the strongest start Do the selective summon, keep a Wyvern damage dealer or a top healer, then stop
You already linked a STOVE account Do not reroll; you would risk the main save
You want a specific limited hero Wait for that banner; rerolling cannot produce it from the standard pool
You have plenty of time and a second Steam account A small number of resets can target the selective summon, not the gacha
You want to play on Foundry with a clean start Start once, claim the launch rewards, and let the daily summons do the work

The launch window is the worst time to spend hours resetting. The Foundry buffs and daily summons reward account age, not a perfect first pull.

Why Steam rerolling is awkward

On mobile, a reroll usually means signing out, clearing the app, and signing in with a new guest identity. On Steam, the identity is the Steam account. Epic Seven creates a temporary game account on first launch, and that account is tied to the Steam login until it is linked or withdrawn.

Creating a second Epic Seven account on the same Steam account is not a supported flow. Doing it properly means a second Steam identity, which is more friction than most players expect. The official conversion rules also restrict how often an account can change login type, so repeated linking and unlinking is not a reroll loop.

Do not withdraw a paid account

Do not withdraw an account that has purchases or a linked STOVE save just to reroll. The withdrawal is not a reversible "start over" button, and support cannot restore a deliberately withdrawn account.

The reroll you can actually control

The selective summon is the deterministic part of a new account. It lets a new player roll a batch of heroes and keep one result, with a limited number of attempts. That is where a reroll decision belongs.

Good keeps, in order of practical value:

Target Role Why keep it
Sigret Ice single-target damage Core Wyvern 13 damage dealer; saves months of Hunt progression
Destina Soul Weaver Strong healing and cleanse for story, Abyss and Hunts
Tamarinne Soul Weaver / support Dual-form support with healing, CR push and attack buff
Vildred Earth AoE damage Fast story and event farming
Angelica Soul Weaver Budget-friendly healer with barrier and immunity
Furious Ice debuffer Not a 5-star, but the Wyvern enabler; keep him regardless

Sigret is the most common recommendation because Wyvern is the first Hunt every account farms, and she remains the benchmark damage dealer there. A start without her is still playable; Brieg, Furious and Muwi do the enabling, and other Ice damage dealers can fill in. A start without a good healer is more uncomfortable, which is why Destina and Tamarinne deserve equal consideration.

What the free summons change

Twenty free Covenant summons per day for the event period is a massive amount of roster growth. A player who logs in daily will pull more heroes in two months than a reroll loop produces in a weekend.

That does not guarantee the specific hero you want. Covenant summons are random. But it does mean the account's power curve is driven by daily consistency, gear and team building rather than the first ten-pull.

The launch events add another layer: Luna at Rank 70 is a guaranteed limited 5-star, and the login bundle provides enough Penguins, runes and catalysts to build a first team without farming every material from zero. A rerolled account that misses a week of daily summons is behind a "worse" account that logged in every day.

A sane reroll procedure on Steam

If you still want to try, keep it small and deliberate.

  1. Create the Steam account you intend to keep. Do not use your main Steam library if you want to repeat the process.
  2. Install Epic Seven and finish the tutorial until the selective summon unlocks.
  3. Roll the selective summon. Keep the account only if it contains Sigret, Destina or Tamarinne.
  4. If the result is bad, complete the tutorial and withdraw the temporary game account through STOVE before trying again.
  5. Stop after two or three attempts. The marginal gain is small compared with the launch buffs you are missing.

Do not spend real money on a rerolled account before the conversion is complete and the account is linked to a STOVE identity you control.

Selective summon versus Covenant summons

New players often confuse the two.

Feature Selective summon Covenant summon
Pool Standard 5-star and below Standard pool, random
Control Choose one batch to keep No choice
Cost Free during new-account flow Bookmarks or free tickets
Limited heroes No Only during their banner
Moonlight heroes No No (separate summon)
Best use Fix a missing role Build depth over time

The selective summon cannot produce limited or Moonlight heroes. If your plan depends on a limited unit, the answer is to save for its banner, not to reroll.

When rerolling is actually worth it

Rerolling makes sense in three cases:

  • You are starting on a fresh server and want a Wyvern damage dealer before the first Hunt event.
  • You have a second Steam account and genuinely enjoy the opening.
  • You plan to play casually and want a healer that carries the first thirty days.

It is not worth it if you have already linked an existing save, bought anything, or plan to play every day. The daily summon stack and the Luna track are worth more than a marginally better first pull.

After the reroll

Once you keep an account, stop optimizing the start and start optimizing the account:

  1. Claim the Foundry login gift and growth bundle.
  2. Spend the day's free summons.
  3. Push story until Hunts unlock.
  4. Build the Wyvern core with Brieg, Furious, Muwi and Sigret if you have them.
  5. Reach Rank 70 for Luna.
  6. Move your best speed gear to the unit that starts your team's turn.

The Steam beginner guide expands each step, and the selective summon guide explains the pick order in more detail.

FAQ

Can I reroll on Steam?

Only by creating a new Steam account and a new game account. There is no in-client reset. Withdrawing a temporary account is possible but risky if you have purchases or a linked save.

Is rerolling worth it in 2026?

Usually not. The daily free summons and the Selective Summon give a controlled start, and a reroll delays the Hunt team that actually produces gear.

What should I aim for if I do reroll?

Sigret is the cleanest target for Wyvern, with Destina or Tamarinne as support alternatives. Stop when the account has a coherent core, not when it has a single flashy five-star.
